God

Throughout history different cultures from around the world have independently developed the idea that “something” must have always existed.  This is a natural consequence of simply following back any chain of events to its logical conclusion.

Different cultures have assigned a name to this “eternal something”, granted it the quality of having always existed, and then added additional traits to it based on their culture’s worldview at the time.  Examples: The Tao, Yahweh, Allah, Brahmin, The Cosmos.

Science has yet to find a way to confirm what the actual eternal something might be.  Many scientists assume that physical existence, in some form, has always existed, but our current knowledge is unable to determine if an eternally existing physical existence or natural world is possible with or without anything that might be called supernatural.

Points: Claiming something has always existed is easy to do.  Objectively verifying what that eternal something is has yet to be achieved.

Joke: It’s turtles all the way down.
