Gender equality is based on the fact that every human is a unique individual. If someone has the physical, intellectual and emotion ability to do a job or role they should be allowed to do so regardless of their gender identity. To put customs or laws in place that prevent someone from engaging in an activity because of their gender or other demographic is prejudicial and a basic violation of their right to be a full member of society.
